Life Without a Camera II

This post is using pictures from the other camera-less option: our camera phones. Here's a hodgepodge of pictures taken on our phones this month.
Asher found a new use for his toothbrush.
He's such a wonderful and loving brother.
Addilyn and her pretty new sunglasses. Thanks, Aunt Courtney!
Addilyn helped Daddy wash the car to get it ready to sell.
She manned the hose and did a great job rinsing.
She also rinsed the flower bed by the mailbox. She learned that if you spray too closely to the dirt you'll end up with some mud sprayed back in your face.
Addilyn enjoying the new van.
Feeding time!
Asher's a brute!
At least he's a brute who enjoys drumming.
Addilyn and her "family car." (There was also a passenger in the highchair seat.)
A couple of weekends ago we went to Manhattan for the day. While there we visited Tyler's former bosses and the house he worked on for a couple of summers. The kids felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed the very long stairwell.
Luckily Kendall and Joel have loaned us their old digital camera so we should have some better pictures coming in the future. Woot, woot! (And thanks Smith's!)

Life Without the Camera

When you don't have a working camera, there are pretty much 2 options for documenting your day-to-day life. This post is using the first option: using other people's pictures. These are pictures that Kendall took when we went to the zoo over 2 weeks ago. Addilyn and Ollie climbing on the giraffe enclosure.
Staring at a giraffe in the enclosure. If you look really close you can see the giraffe's ear in the upper left side of the photo. The giraffe was down in the trench at the edge of the enclosure (no idea how he got down there) and was therefore providing the with an excellent, up-close view.
More climbing.
A very good look at one of the gorillas.
Lily taking charge.
Asher and a goat at the farm animal section. Asher looks fairly happy here but in about 3 seconds he would start screaming. Apparently being on face level with a ever-growing and very interested group of goats can be kind of scary.
Addilyn, on the other hand, was not at all scared of the goats and thoroughly enjoyed feeding some through the fence. Thanks Aunt Kendall, Ollie, and Lily for a very fun morning (really, really late).

More New Teeth

Another notation for a very distant baby book:
Today I discovered Asher's 3 new teeth. He's been working on the bottom left molar for quite some time and I notice just the other day that it actually was breaking through. Yay! Today, since he doesn't really open his mouth for you to look, I stuck my finger in there to see how far it's come through. While he yelled at me (apparently he's not a fan of having anyone's finger in his mouth but his own), I checked his top gums too and discovered that the top molars are through and probably have been for a while. I've never even gotten a glimpse of them! Crazy, kid. This would probably explain any fussiness I've seen (which has been surprisingly little considering he's pushing through 3 molars at the same time). Way to power through, little dental warrior!

A Post About Not Posting

It may be a bit before we are able to take pictures again (outside of on our phones). The lens on our camera decided to die. Tyler has taken the entire camera apart to try to fix it. If he's able to get it all back together and working, hooray! If not, at least he had fun. And I guess we'll have to look for another camera. Needless to say, we may not have any new pictures to share for a while. Just thought you'd like to know.

Grandpa & Grandma B's

The kids and I spent a good chunk of last week with my parents in Nebraska while Tyler was at a ECC conference in Minneapolis. There were all sorts of new experiences and adventures while we were there.

First Slush
Grandma B bought Addilyn her very first strawberry slush from Sonic. Here's her first sip.
Not exactly sure what to think at first.
Wait...that's really good.
Mmm...I think I'll have some more.
Entertaining Asher while he ate.
And look at all he ate! This was the first time he finished an entire jar of baby food in one setting. He didn't seem to know what the fuss was about.
Bath time.
Sprinkler Park/Playground
While grandma was at an in-service, the kids and I went to play at the sprinkler park. Addilyn thoroughly enjoyed the water. You can almost hear her screaming.
Asher watching Addilyn run and play in the water (with his one shoe).
He was fairly determined to climb the rollerslide. I was a little nervous because Addilyn got her finger stuck in this very same slide when she was Asher's age.
Addilyn climbing.
Playing with gears.
Yelling from the top of the playground.

Addilyn eating a chip at Carlos O'Kelly's.
Asher eating Addilyn's cup at Carlos O'Kelly's.
Backyard Pool
Grandpa and Grandma B bought an inflatable pool for the kids' visit. Addilyn took great joy in filling up the pool (and watering the lawn).
Soaking in the pool later that day (once the water had, had a chance to warm up a little).
Playing with the hose.
She was fairly certain she could drain the pool with that little cup. She might have gotten it done had I let her continue.
Climbing.
Addilyn watering the plants with the water from the pool. She really enjoyed this too. Seriously, give my kids a cup and some water and they'll be as happy as can be.
The kids in the car on the way home.
