SPRING!

Thanks to Craigslist and a nice family in Evanston we are now able to carry all 6 of us on a bike ride!

As far as the Johnson family is concerned, this marked the official beginning of Spring.

4 Months

Albert was 4 months old on Thursday.
We went to the doctor on Friday.
He weighed in at 18lb, 5oz. He was 28.5 inches long. That puts him at the 95th percentile for weight and above the chart for length. He's still a big boy!
As for development, he's doing everything a 4-6 month old should be. He coos and babbles. He rolls over.  He tries to grab and chew on everything. He smiles and giggles. He's a happy, active baby.

Picture Post

The boys playing with oranges while sitting on chairs on top of a table.
Where's Addilyn? Addilyn fell asleep one day after school and Tyler thought she looked lonely.
Elias fell asleep (perfectly upright) while watching a movie.

Albert staring down the mobile Tyler made for him.
The boys keeping up on what's new in the automotive world.

Addilyn reading Albert a book.
The greatest milestone we've reached lately is Addilyn being able to prepare breakfast on Saturday mornings. She gets all the dishes and cereal. She even pours everyone's drinks and gets down our vitamins. Yay Addilyn!
More reading.

Missing Tooth

Addilyn lost her first tooth! It came out while she was at school and she was pretty excited.  She came home that night and told us how we were supposed to pretend to be the tooth fairy. "I put the tooth under my pillow and you put money or a treat under it while I'm sleeping." Silly girl. Yay for another milestone!

The Party

As we mentioned before, Asher's birthday was on Tuesday.  It was a big day for him.  In the morning, we didn't get to do our normal birthday tradition of special cereal because Asher had his baked milk challenge.  Luckily, it went really well and now he can have baked goods with milk in them.  Yay!  We'll be working him up to having things with cheese in them in a month or two and hopefully exposure in this form will help him be able to tolerate milk in a more direct manner sooner.
For his party, we invited over a few friends for dinner and cake.  The dinner of choice was burgers.  To be more accurate, he requested burgers and graham crackers, although we were able to convince him that chips might be an acceptable substitute for graham crackers.  Before dinner got started, he got to open his gift.
He also got a pair of Chacos for his birthday. He was pretty excited!
Ready for dinner.
The cake.  This is the same cake I made last year, only I was able to use regular flour since he can have wheat now (and I used extra dark cocoa because that's what I could find in my pantry).  As vegan cakes go, this is a really good one.
 The ladies at our shindig.
 Enjoying his cake.
Also enjoying the cake.
Really, really enjoying the cake.
Notice his cake goatee.
Albert even got all spiffed up for the party.  He's so dapper.
And a grand time was had by all.

This is the super excited, "I don't know what to do with all this energy" face.
