The Literalist

Addilyn emerged from her afternoon nap wearing one of Asher's diapers. We were quite perplexed as to how and why this would have happened. Here's our best guess.

We've been potty trainging Addilyn for the last month or so. She seems to do just fine when she remembers. We've officially ran out of her regular diapers and have switched to a transitional pack of pull ups in hopes that it will help her grasp the concept of undies without excessive mess. Before sending Addilyn in for her nap we stressed the importance of not pooping or peeing in her "undies". We told her this a couple of times and even had her repeat it back to make sure she'd heard us. Apparently at some point she woke up and needed to pee. We had told her not to go in her undies so she took off her undies and decided instead of going to the bathroom to use the toilet to use one of Asher's diapers instead. She then climbed up on the changing table and proceeded to diaper herself. She did a pretty good job too; Tyler and I were both wondering if the other had switched her to a regular diaper before her nap until we noticed the size. So technically she did not poop or pee in her undies and I guess we'll have to be more specific. Crazy kid.

Hair Cuts and Snowmen

Both of my babies had their first hair cuts today. Tyler decided it was time because he felt Asher was moving past adorable little boy and on to looking like a little girl. I jumped in to save him from the inevitable Tyler buzz cut.

Stare down with the spray bottle.

Addilyn's turn. We set her (and Asher) down for Finding Nemo thinking it would be the only way to get her to sit still. It worked like a charm.

All done.

After the hair cuts, Asher went down for a nap and Daddy and Addilyn went outside to play in the snow. Addilyn playing kissy face with her snowman.

And now a hug.

"It's my hat"

Now her snowman has a cold head...but Addilyn doesn't.

It's already been a couple of weeks since we took this video so I thought I better get it on here today before he moves on to learning his next major skill.

Picture Purge

Tyler has started classes and we're finally able to get back into a routine. Here are some pictures we've taken in the last couple of weeks of the not-so-extraordinary moments in life.

Asher likes to play with the kitchen. He's barely tall enough to see over the counter but he seems to enjoy it all the same.

The giraffe. He's become an important part of Addilyn's world.

Family Photos
