Getting Our Christmas Tree!

Yesterday we made our yearly trek to cut down a Christmas tree. It's always an exciting trip!
We decided to go yesterday because next weekend is filled up to the brim and this week looked to be snowy (the kids are off of school today because of the snow and ice). We had only a few hours between the church service and a service at the nursing home so we had to be quick. Unfortunately, the closest tree farm (that wasn't already out of trees) is just over an hour away. That made for a crazy, quick but luckily very effective trip. Yay!
What do you think of that tree?
 Look, a stick!
Dangerous stick.
Tromp, tromp, tromp.
 We have a winner!
Cut, cut, cut.
She was counting the rings to see how old our tree is.
Lug, lug, lug.
Headed back to the shed.
Need to catch up.
Smiley boy, carrying a saw.
Smiley girl, carrying a tree.
Shaking off the extra needles. Shake 'em off, shake' em off.
Watching the tree shake, shake, shake.
Time to net it up.
Tying it on tight.
Our super-silly, smiley crew as we head home with our tree. Yay!
(Also, Elias' face is spectacular in this picture.)

First Big Snow!

We had our first big snow of the season this week!  That meant lots of fun in the yard for the kids!
Our pumpkins look cold!
The men who clear the snow off the parking lot make big piles in the yard for the kids to play in. Here Elias was getting ready to sled down the pile.
Happy Albert!
 Happy Addilyn!
Both last year and this year, Tyler and the kids have made some big stick/leaf forts in the yard. This year's is pretty huge!
Now that it's all covered in snow, we can call it the snow fort or maybe the igloo.
Tyler was clearing the sidewalk. The kids thought it was funny to have snow thrown at them.
Smiling in the snow fort.
Let's take a closer look at Albert's face here. Priceless!
One of our kids was not so happy about being out in the snow and cold on this day (although he normally loves it).
Yay for snow!

Halloween 2015

This Halloween was a bit crazy. Here is the only picture we got of all the kids together. Tyler took it with his phone.
We hosted trunk-or-treat with our church this year.
There were somewhere near 10 trunks full of candy for kids to stop by.
Batman and Lego Emmett were having a conversation with Al.
Our Star Wars Lego themed trunk.
Alongside our trunks full of treats, we had a bonfire to help warm people and walking tacos to fill bellies (with something other than candy). All in all, it was a pretty fun night!!
