Look What I Can Do!

Busy Girl

Addilyn has been a busy, busy girl for the last few days. She is getting into lots of things and finding all sorts of ways to entertain herself and others during the day.

Here she is ready to go off to work. I'm guessing she's using the purse like a briefcase but since Tyler has never taken a briefcase (or purse for that matter) to work with him, I can't say for sure.

She received a stool to help her in potty training. She loves it and totes it with her all around the house. Here she's using it to see and reach things she shouldn't.

Addilyn is an awesome older sister. She is very caring and gentle with her little brother. She loves to entertain him and take care of him. I'm guessing she thought that Asher would get bored in his crib all by himself so she tossed some toys in there with him.

And finally Addilyn loves to rock out with her Daddy. Here she is not only drumming but singing as well. Rock on little one!

Brotherly (and Sisterly) Love

Addilyn and Asher have had all sorts of fun since we returned from our trip. Alright, Addilyn has had all sorts of fun with Asher and he's done a really good job tolerating it. He seems to love it when she pays attention to him so he's game for all the interesting games she plays with him.

Here they're playing together with his toy.

Addilyn will occasionally insist on holding Asher. She does a pretty good job of not hurting him so we indulge her most of the times she asks. Here she posing them for a picture.

And finally, here was a fun little incident that I couldn't get in one picture but did manage to get the gist of in two pictures. Addilyn placed this frog in the seat with Asher while he was sitting in his Megasaucer. I thought that was funny enough so I took a picture.

Then she ran off to her room and got this ball toy. She came back and held it to her face and said, "Say cheese." Apparently she was posing Asher and his frog for a picture. Too much posing on vacation? Probably, but it does make for a really cute story, right?

Asher's "New" Toy

While we were at my parents' house, we picked up Addilyn's megasaucer for Asher to play with. I realize that he's probably a bit young still to fully enjoy it, but thus far he loves it. He likes to stare at all the toys and occasionally will accidentally hit something which gets him super excited. We love it because he can stand (which he wants to do pretty much all the time) without one of us having to hold him.

Asher standing up "on his own."

He always starts with his hands out and slowly moves them down in front of his belly. Then he'll start sucking on the seat (as pictured above). You can actually hear him sucking on it as illustrated at the end of this video.

The Final Leg

We finally made it home after a very long Sunday and are starting to feel like we have recovered. Here are some pictures from the journey.

Addilyn and her "cheese" face.

She was letting the polar bear drive.

Long ago, we had this idea to take a picture of Ditty (Addilyn's stuffed dog) at every notable place our family visited. We had kind of let that slide and decided to try to get that caught up a bit while we travelled. Here's Ditty as we entered Oklahoma.

And as we entered Texas.

During one of our pit stops Tyler got some Sonic. Addilyn didn't get anything but just seemed happy to be out of her seat for a bit.

Do I have to get back in?

Asher was a trooper but seemed to be done about 9 hours in. He fussed for a couple of hours but had calmed down again by the time we got home.

It was a fun trip but I think everyone was excited to get home after a day like that.

Our Trip (Second Edition)

Here are a bunch of pictures from the second half of our trip.

After we got back from Chicago, we headed to Manhattan. Here is Grandpa J and Asher at one of our favorite restaurants ever, Fourth Street Cafe.

After lunch we played at the new and improved City Park playground and then headed to Java for drinks. Addilyn is helping me finish off the always delicious Mango Berry Freeze.

Tyler looking studly in Aggieville.

We also wandered through the KSU campus.

After a very late night in Manhattan, we headed on to Kearney, NE to visit my parents. Here Addilyn and Belle are bonding.

Addilyn & Tyler took a walk around the block with Grandpa B & Belle. (Courtney, can you hear her screaming as she runs?)

"Sky!"

Addilyn picked her first strawberry from Grandma B's strawberry patch.

We stopped by my grandparents' house on our way back to El Dorado. Here is Asher's first visit with his Great Grandpa Bert.

Tyler washed the van on Saturday morning. Addilyn helped.

Asher and Courtney watched for a while.

Addilyn took a break to ride the neighbor's John Deere push tractor.

Snack time.

Nap time.

Bath time.

Aunt Courtney did a lesson in hair styling for Erin.
