As we mentioned before, Asher's birthday was on Tuesday. It was a big day for him. In the morning, we didn't get to do our normal birthday tradition of special cereal because Asher had his baked milk challenge. Luckily, it went really well and now he can have baked goods with milk in them. Yay! We'll be working him up to having things with cheese in them in a month or two and hopefully exposure in this form will help him be able to tolerate milk in a more direct manner sooner.
For his party, we invited over a few friends for dinner and cake. The dinner of choice was burgers. To be more accurate, he requested burgers and graham crackers, although we were able to convince him that chips might be an acceptable substitute for graham crackers. Before dinner got started, he got to open his gift.
He also got a pair of Chacos for his birthday. He was pretty excited!
Ready for dinner.
The cake. This is the same cake I made last year, only I was able to use regular flour since he can have wheat now (and I used extra dark cocoa because that's what I could find in my pantry). As vegan cakes go, this is a really good one.
The ladies at our shindig.
Enjoying his cake.
Also enjoying the cake.
Really, really enjoying the cake.
Notice his cake goatee.
Albert even got all spiffed up for the party. He's so dapper.
And a grand time was had by all.
