Peaceful Walk

Saturday was a fairly lazy day. We decided to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and go for another one of our City Walks. This one was in Wilmette, a very weathy and extremely quiet northern suburb. Here are the highlights:

This is the Baha'i temple in Wilmette. It is one of only 7 temples in the world for this faith and the only one in North America.

They started construction on the Chicago temple in 1920 and finished in 1952. It's made of a whole lot of white concrete. Check out that detail!

The temple is surrounded by gardens and fountains. The water in this one was so very clear. It was beautiful.

Asher is enjoying some mid-morning sun. (Who can tell which one of us took this picture?)

Wandering through the gorgeous gardens.

More incredible detail on the benches/walls in the gardens.

After the temple, we went across the street to a park that runs along Lake Michigan. Tyler got to run along these rocks. He was so happy.

Cheesy picture by the water.
