BABY?

Not yet, but while I have your attention, check out our new feature.
It's called "Tyler's Song of the Now". (on the right, below our blog list)
I (Tyler) will occasionally reveal a new and different song to you, perhaps weekly, or maybe daily. Sometimes I may get lazy and we'll do it fortnightly. Eventually, I'll lose interest (as you probably already have) and weeks later I'll take it off.

For now, enjoy Hocus Pocus by Focus.

Projects

As mentioned in the previous post, Courtney is staying with us for a couple of weeks to visit and help prep for the new baby. She's been very helpful thus far and we're very excited that she decided to stay another week. Since she's super crafty, I've sort of taken advantage of her to get some projects done around the house. Back in October we bought Addilyn a little table at IKEA. It wasn't really finished or anything so I thought that I could paint it and make it look cute. It's now March and I still hadn't made any steps toward this project. She (with help from Grandpa Johnson) finished the painting a couple of days ago and here are the before and after pictures to prove it.

Before:

After:They painted each of the legs a different color (not to mention the two-toned chairs) and the table top is painted in chalkboard paint so Addilyn can write on it. She's pretty excited.

Other than the table, we have Courtney painting our very cheap DVD tower. It was a rather ugly light wood color and she's painting it black (what other color would Courtney paint?). I think it will look tons better and will fit in with our living room much better. Yah!

Thanks Courtney!!

Memory Card Purge

It's time again for a picture update. Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.
This first picture is a belly shot in my maternity dress on the 11th.

Next is Addilyn playing in her kitchen (while wearing the new apron from Aunt Courtney). I think she was getting someone a drink from her sink.

She not only pretends to make food, she pretends to eat it as well. I think she was pretending to eat some Stove Top dressing here.

I'm sure Courtney will love me for posting this picture. She's been here since Monday and will be staying until Thursday to visit and help out while we prep for the baby. I'm thinking we might have been working her too hard.

Lastly, we have my latest belly shot which was taken last night.

We'll hopefully have some more exciting news and pictures to share in the next couple of weeks. Goodbye until then.

Odds and Ends

Here are some random pictures from the last week or so that don't have to do with her birthday. This first picture is of Daddy's fabulous hair do. If Daddy gets her up in the morning and feeds her, her hair will generally look a lot like this (there are at least a couple more clips on the other side). He doesn't mess around with hair ties and prefers the liberal use of clips. Lovely!

The next picture is of Addilyn right after she had dove head-first into a very full bath tub. Daddy was preparing a bath for Mommy and Addilyn thought she'd test it out first. Isn't she sweet?!!

When Addilyn is on her rocking horse, she demands full participation from all of those around. You can almost feel our enthusiasm.

And lastly we have a video of Addilyn flying her kite.

Blowing out those candles

Here is a video of Addilyn blowing out the candles on her birthday cake.

Here is the video of her second time blowing out the candles (per her request).

Happy Birthday Addilyn!!

As alluded to in the past couple of posts, today was Addilyn's 2nd birthday. Here is a slideshow of the pictures.

Just to keep you on the edge of your seat, we'll post some videos from throughout the day later this week.

Addilyn is 2!!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Today was a beautiful day in Bay Area Houston. It was in the upper 70s-lower 80s with a nice breeze. After our afternoon naps, we decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and try out our new kite. Here is a slideshow of the afternoon in the park. (And considering that tomorrow is Addilyn's birthday, these may have to suffice as Addilyn 2-year pictures as well.) Enjoy!
