Getting a Christmas Tree

Since we've been in Chicago, we've gotten our Christmas trees at Home Depot.  It's close and relatively cheap (compared to the rest of the lots in the area).  It's not a very exciting experience though.  This year we decided to try to find a place to cut down our own.  It adds a bit of adventure to the process.  Let's go!
We did a tiny bit of research and found a place called Flora Tree Farms about an hour away that seemed to fit our needs (and budget).  Here we are headed out to the field to pick our tree.
Addilyn and Albert got a free ride.  Cuties.
"What do we think about this one?"
"Okay, group, which way should we go?"
Apparently that way.   Tromp, tromp, tromp.
Found it!!
A man and his conquest.
I know he loves me when he agrees to pose for goofy pictures like this.  Thanks sweetie!
Watching Daddy trim branches off the bottom.
Consulting the map.  "Now which way do we go?"
A family and its tree.  (You might want to look at this picture a little closer because it is awesome!)
Enjoying a hay ride back to the barn.
Riding.
Goofy picture with Mommy. (But I was there too!)
Shaking it out.
 Uber cutie!
Tying it down for the ride home.
The happiest our kids have EVER looked in our van.
I mean seriously happy kids.
On the whole, this was an awesome experience.  Everyone had a good time.  The farm was low key but beautiful.  The tree is lovely and was cheaper than at Home Depot.  And we got the experience of going out as a family and picking it out.  So fun!  Even the car ride was fun.  We made a game of spotting all the vehicles with Christmas trees on our way there.  I think our final total was 76.
I'll post pictures of our decorated tree in a few days.
