Thanksgiving and Its Tree

To aid in our celebration of Thanksgiving, the kids and I did a little art project.  It involved bringing home some sticks we found on our way back from school.
It was very exciting!  They never get to bring in the sticks they find.  Thus there is an unusually large number of sticks in our yard; the kids will collect them on our walk and I will make them leave them outside. But I digress.
The kids all got to help with our little project.  Here the boys were helping color leaves for our sticks.
And Addilyn was learning how to thread string through a hole and tie a knot.
With all that work we ended up with a Thanksgiving tree.  Lovely, no?
On the back of each leaf, we wrote something we are thankful for.
Here is our Thanksgiving table all set.  Even though it was just the 6 of us, we got out the tablecloth and fancy napkins so we could do it up right.
Cook, cook, cook. Stir, stir, stir.
Munch.

Tyler's Thanksgiving plate.  It seems he likes potatoes.
Um, guys? Somebody gave me a fork.
Don't worry, buddy.  Somebody gave him a butter knife.  Neither may have been a great idea but no one got hurt.
Mmm...biscuit.
And then we gave Addilyn some sparkling grape juice.  The girl does not like "sparkly" drinks.
Happy baby, with a belly full of biscuit. I feel you, man.  After that meal, I kind of want to go lay down too.
Then we let Addilyn take a picture of us using the fancy camera.  Not too bad.
Chew, chew, chew.
And we finished it all with some apple pie.
All done.
